Pre and post treatment advice

- Avoid tanning and using sunbeds for 2 weeks before and after each laser hair removal session. Apply sunscreen with at least an SPF 50 if you do need to spend time outdoors.

- Refrain from hair removal methods that removes the hair from the root, eg. plucking, epilating or waxing, during your full course. Shaving is fine, but these other hair removal techniques can reduce the effectiveness of the laser treatment.

- Shave the area to be treated, as instructed during the pre-treatment consultation.
You will need to do this a day or two before the appointment as the hair follicles should be visible. It could be a little painful if longer hair is present during the laser hair removal process

- Clean the skin and leave it free from cosmetics, lotions and creams. If you apply deodorant, it will need to be removed prior to treatment.

- Wear clothing that will leave the treated area exposed or is loose-fitting. The treated area may have a soothing gel applied that you don’t want to get on clothing. Tight or abrasive clothing will feel uncomfortable if the skin is sensitive after treatment. We may also shave and mark the areas to be treated.

- Protective eyewear is provided and will need to be worn throughout the treatment.

FAQs

What areas can you treat?

Treatment areas include face, underarms, arms, legs, back, bikini, chest, and more!

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Treatments are virtually painless, as we employ an air cooling system in our treatments to counteract the heat, but will vary from person to person. People describe a range of sensations during treatment from tingling to the snapping of a rubber band.

How long are treatments?

A laser hair removal session is relatively short. It can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated.

How many treatments are needed?

As we use state of the art technology, a series of only 6 treatments are recommended for optimal results. But, every person is different so we will work with you to develop a plan that is right for you!

Why are multiple treatments needed?

Our hair naturally grows in 3 different stages. All our hair is not in the same stage at the same time, so when an area is treated only a percentage of hair follicles will be affected. Therefore, to effectively reduce your unwanted hair, multiple treatments are necessary.

Is laser hair removal right for me?

This treatment is safe for all skin types, including light and dark skin and most hair colours. We will work with you to determine best treatment options for you.

What type of results can I expect?

You can expect to see a gradual decrease in the hair thickness and in the amount of hair present. In addition, you may also see a decrease in stubble, rashes and ingrown hairs.

Can I have laser whilst pregnant?

It is advised that you do not get laser hair removal while you're pregnant. Laser hair removal is safe, but there are currently no long-term studies that analyse the effects of laser hair treatment on unborn children. For this reason, it is best to play it safe.
